THE DESIRE TO SMELL GOOD COULD BE MAKING YOUR SKIN AGE FASTER
As a little girl, Daisy loved the way her mom smelled. Every time she’d hug her or just be next to her, she’d take a long, deep whiff of her mother’s scent. She thought that was just what her mother smelled like naturally and would often wonder why she didn’t smell the same way.
“Mama, why don’t I smell like you do? Why don’t I smell of fresh flowers?”
she asked her mom one night as she was getting tucked into bed.
“My darling, I don’t always smell like that. That’s just perfume. You are far too young to wear it right now.
Besides, you smell so much better than me,”
her mom replied lovingly.
Daisy drifted off to sleep thinking about what she had just learned about perfumes. She wondered when she’d be able to get her own perfume and how many perfumes she could have and if she could smell different every day.
It wasn’t just her mother’s fragrance; Daisy would often be in awe of the scents that lingered in the room even when strangers passed by. Sometimes the room would smell like coconuts and the ocean, and at others, it would smell like someone had brought in the most exotic bouquet of fresh flowers.
But there were also times when a scent just smelled extremely rancid. Daisy did not like that at all and would instantly cover her nose when she was around a perfume she didn’t like.
DAISY GETS HER SIGNATURE SCENT
When she got to high school and started reading magazines, Daisy would jump to the pages with perfume ads, especially the ones with scent strips, which she’d rub all over her neck. By this time, she had seen the large collection of perfumes her mom owned and even learned exactly how to apply these scented elixirs.
2 spritzes on each side of the neck, 1 on each wrist, and 1 in the air to walk through so the hair could catch some of the scent.
The first time her mom took her perfume shopping, Daisy was like a child in a candy store. She couldn’t make up her mind and wanted every bottle. She was allowed to buy 1 bottle for herself and Daisy treated that bottle like her most prized possession.
By the time Daisy was in college, she had a special cupboard just for her perfume collection. And her favorite was the one she wore the day she met her husband, who also couldn’t stop complimenting her on how lovely she smelled.
Daisy got married, had 2 wonderful kids, and she lived a deeply fulfilling life.
THE SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS THAT FOLLOWED
However, even though her journey with perfumes began on such a rosy note, things began to change as Daisy started getting older. The collection of perfumes she had built and loved for so long started to smell foul. They’d retain their original smell when they were in the bottle but as soon as she’d spray them onto her skin, diligently following the method she learned as a little girl, the scent would quickly be replaced with something rotten, something that’d instantly give Daisy a blinding headache.
But she didn’t lose faith. She kept buying new bottles, trying to find the one scent that wouldn’t give her a migraine or make her smell like spoiled cheese. But things only got worse.
Her husband could see this was really impacting Daisy. He’d tell her that she didn’t have to wear a fancy perfume to smell good but Daisy was set on finding “the one”. She was in denial and there was nobody who could her help. Not even her own mother, who inspired her love for fragrances.
But after so much trial and error, Daisy felt hopeless. And she had developed a new problem: The perfumes started giving her rashes and make her skin rough, dry, and crepey. No matter what body lotion or anti-ageing cream she applied, Daisy’s skin kept getting drier, which made her skin, especially on her décolleté, look much older. Her trusted petroleum jelly was also no match for her now ageing and dehydrated skin.
Tired, fed up, and now with crepey, dry skin and no perfume to call her favorite – Daisy began researching about natural alternatives that would help her solve both her problems.
She embarked on the quest to find 1 product that would make her smell amazing (for long hours) AND repair the damage those perfumes had done to her skin.
So now Daisy was stuck with 2 problems:
She could not find any perfume that made her smell good.
Her skin was beginning to turn dry, itchy, rough, and wrinkled – way before her time.
So far Daisy’s love for perfumes had:
❌ Made her smell really bad
❌ Wasted her money
❌ Given her debilitating headaches
❌ Made her insecure about herself
❌ Aged her skin prematurely
And she found the solution she was looking for.
And she found the solution she was looking for.
An effective, guaranteed to work solution that’s been around for longer than the Pyramids of Giza; a solution that’s been hidden from you for way too long now.
A solution that, quite honestly, you won’t get to know about unless you’re actively looking for it.
Daisy was not a complete stranger to Ayurveda or Ayurvedic skincare. She had friends who swore by that lifestyle, but she just didn’t think it was for her.
“Using oils? In the summer? On my body AND face? No, thanks,” she’d say.
Daisy had always used big pharma or drugstore skincare. It was accessible, affordable, and she believed those ads and marketing campaigns that claimed the product was an “age rewinding time capsule” that would make wrinkles “vanish”.
But none of her drugstore skincare products came to her rescue when she really needed them to. In fact, they just made matters worse. But Daisy was out of options and her skin was not getting better.
She was no longer looking for a perfume; she wanted something more nourishing and nurturing. And that’s when she went back to all the wonderful things her friend had told her about polyherbal oils and how they helped her stay confident in her skin even as she ages.
Can you guess what Daisy did afterwards?
She got her phone, called up her friend, and spoke to her for HOURS about these Ayurvedic oils. She also learned that her perfume wasn’t just giving her headaches or making her smell foul, it was actually the main reason why her skin always felt uncomfortably tight, stretchy, and dehydrated.
The wrinkly and saggy skin that appeared on her neck, the one that made her insecure about wearing scoop neck dresses… her perfumes were to be blamed for that too.
While they were her last resort, Daisy’s friend made her realize that an Ayurvedic oil should have been her go-to to solve her skincare AND fragrance woes since the beginning…
And now we are going to tell you everything Daisy’s friend told her.
IS YOUR PERFUME THE SILENT KILLER IN YOUR BEAUTY ROUTINE?
IS YOUR PERFUME THE SILENT KILLER IN YOUR BEAUTY ROUTINE?
Perfumes are seriously problematic and we don’t know why that’s not being talked about more.
Instead, what we see is shelves FULL of perfumes with the most alluring packaging, the most gorgeous celebrity ambassadors, and scents that we instantly love and want.
THE PROBLEM WITH PERFUMES
The concentration level of a perfume refers to the strength that a fragrance has. Fragrances that contain more perfume oils and less alcohol tend to have a higher fragrance concentration, which means it lasts longer while also being more expensive.
There are 2 main types of fragrances available - Natural and synthetic.
Natural
Made from essential oils and plant extracts
Created through a variety of processes such as distillation, solvent extraction, cold-pressing, infusions, etc.
Generally considered to be safer and gentler on the skin and also good for the environment
More expensive due to their make
The high concentration of scents might cause allergic reactions in some people
Synthetic
Claim to have “natural” ingredients, but usually only a very small percentage
Created in labs using chemicals derived from petroleum or paper industry wood pulp
Usually longer-lasting than natural fragrances, they may cause headaches, dizziness, and other health issues
Cheaper than natural perfumes
Made up of blends of chemicals, consumers have no way of knowing what they're inhaling or putting on their skin

Did you know that synthetic fragrances are made from chemicals that replicate natural scents?
These chemicals are often derived from petroleum or wood pulp, and some have been identified as carcinogens or endocrine disruptors. Some of the most common synthetic fragrances include musk, ethyl methoxycinnamate, and phthalates. Synthetic fragrances are present in a variety of household items, including air fresheners, scented candles, laundry detergents, and fabric softeners. They are also frequently used in personal care products such as perfumes, colognes, soaps, and shampoos. If the label lists "parfum" or "fragrance," it's synthetic - even if the label says "natural oils”. These terms are not regulated and can be used to deceive consumers like you. Synthetic fragrances can be found in scents like watermelon, peach, plum, fig, strawberry, cherry, and apricot - but not in citrus fruits.

Fragrance secrecy is legal due to a giant loophole in the Federal Fair Packaging and Labeling Act (FPLA) of 1973. The FDA mandates that the FPLA requires companies to disclose the list of ingredients used in their products. However, this law cannot force companies to reveal their "trade secrets”.
By taking advantage of this loophole, the cosmetics industry has kept the public in the dark about the ingredients in fragrance, even those that present potential health risks or build up in people’s bodies.
Fragrance and flavor formulas consist of a complex combination of various natural and synthetic chemical components, which are most likely to be classified as "trade secrets" by companies. Unfortunately, this means that most commercial perfumes contain chemicals that are not individually listed on the packaging and are instead grouped under the umbrella term "fragrance".
This lack of transparency raises concerns about the potential chemical reactions that perfumes can cause within the body. While immediate and irreversible damage from "perfume poisoning" is rare, exposure to topical fragrances when not used correctly can lead to allergies, skin sensitivities, and other long-term harm.
Fragrance products are exempt from FDA testing, making it even more challenging for consumers - like you - to identify what's in your perfume. Some perfumes may contain ingredients that trigger wheezing or asthma, throw off hormone balance, or harm the reproductive system over time.

INGREDIENTS YOU DON’T WANT ANYWHERE NEAR YOUR SKIN
❌ ETHANOL OR ISOPROPYL
Perfumes, colognes, or aftershaves often contain ethanol or isopropyl alcohol, which are among the most toxic ingredients for your health. These alcohols are infused with scented components to preserve and stabilize the preferred fragrance. However, inhaling or ingesting more than 30 ml of either of these alcohols can lead to a range of symptoms, including redness, itching, or sinus irritation. Identifying the exact ingredient causing the reaction can be challenging, unfortunately.
❌ MUSKS
There are several chemicals that have been linked to negative impacts on human health. One such group is synthetic musks, which includes chemicals like musk ketone, musk xylene, galaxolide, and tonalide. These chemicals have been linked with causing disruption to the reproductive system, hormone imbalance, and even organ damage
❌ DEP
A chemical used to make perfumes last longer, The U.S. Clean Water Act lists diethyl phthalate (DEP) as a toxic pollutant. Abundant in both men and women’s fragrances, it has the potential to damage the nervous system and act as a hormone disruptor. It can also cause irritation to the respiratory tract, skin, and eyes.
❌ METHYLENE CHLORIDE OR DICHLOROMETHANE
These chemicals have been linked to liver and lung cancer and benign mammary gland tumors in animal studies. The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has classified it as a probable human carcinogen. Methyl chloride or chloromethane can have a negative impact on the skin, kidneys, liver, and the nervous system.
❌ BUTYLPHENYL METHYLPROPIONAL
This chemical can trigger itchiness and skin inflammation, while styrene is known to be toxic to the liver and red blood cells. Dioxane is considered potentially carcinogenic to humans, and titanium dioxide (TIO2) may cause damage to the lungs and respiratory system.
❌ RESORCINOL
This can negatively impact the nervous and cardiovascular systems, while propylparaben has been linked to breast cancer. Oxybenzone (BP-3) may accumulate in the liver, kidneys, and blood and have toxic effects on liver cells. Formaldehyde is a proven carcinogen to humans, and butoxyethanol is a known irritant to the throat, nose, eyes, and skin. Excessive exposure may lead to long-term damage to the liver, blood cells, kidneys, respiratory system, nervous system, and lymphoid system.
❌ BENZYL BENZOATE
May irritate and burn the scalp and genitalia, while benzyl salicylate is a known allergen that can cause skin and eye irritation. Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) is an irritant to the eyes and skin, and butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) is listed as an endocrine disruptor and carcinogen in humans. Benzophenone is another endocrine disruptor that has been linked to developing tumors in liver cells. Lastly, acetaldehyde adversely affects the respiratory and nervous systems and kidneys and is considered possibly carcinogenic to humans.
Let’s do a quick recap of the potentially life-threatening conditions the chemicals in perfumes are linked to:
💀 Redness, itching, or sinus irritation
💀 Disruption to the reproductive, respiratory, and cardiovascular system, hormone imbalance, organ
damage, and liver damage.
💀 Damage the nervous system
💀 Hormone disruption
💀 Irritation and inflammation to the respiratory tract, skin, and eyes
💀 Linked to breast cancer
💀 Long-term damage to the liver, blood cells, kidneys, and lymphoid system
AND WE HAVEN’T EVEN STARTED TALKING ABOUT WHAT PERFUMES CAN DO TO YOUR SKIN
Let’s begin…
1.Contact Dermatitis
Perfumes can cause contact dermatitis, a mild allergic reaction that presents as hives or blisters, itchy or flaking skin, burning or redness on skin, and sensitivity to touch. This reaction occurs most commonly on the hands, in the armpits, or on the face when your skin encounters an ingredient, either synthetic or natural, that irritates you.
Contact dermatitis can be classified into two types, depending on the causative compounds.
The first type is irritant contact dermatitis, which occurs due to prolonged exposure to chemicals that have mild irritant effects on the skin.
The second type is allergic contact dermatitis, which happens when certain chemicals act as allergens and make the skin sensitive to them. When the skin comes in contact with these chemicals again, the body recognizes them as allergens and reacts. Hand eczema (dry and itchy patches of skin) may also result from this condition, or it may occur as a complication of irritative or atopic dermatitis.
On the other hand, face eczema may be caused by perfumed skin care and after-shave products.
Older people are at a higher risk of experiencing fragrance mix sensitization. This condition can be challenging to manage and may require specialized care. If you belong to this demographic, it is important to be aware of this potential risk and take the necessary precautions to prevent exposure to fragrances that may trigger unwanted reactions.
2. Photoallergy And Photo-Toxicity
The main clinical symptoms of photoallergy are eczema, which can appear and disappear within 2-48 hours after product application. While sun-exposed areas are the most commonly affected, symptoms can also spread to other areas. Other fragrances, such as cinnamates, may also cause photoallergy. Fragrances derived from plants, like furanocoumarins, can cause phototoxicity reactions that result in redness of the skin followed by hyperpigmentation.
3. Dyschromia
A condition where the skin becomes patchy and discoloured, also known as mottled skin. It happens when chemicals or foreign substances affect the blood vessels in the skin, leading to changes in melanin concentration.

IF YOU ARE NOT CURRENTLY SIDE-EYING YOUR FAVORITE PERFUME, THEN THIS IS YOUR CUE TO THROW DAGGERS AT IT WITH YOUR EYES.
It’s not easy to let go of something as personal as a perfume, and you definitely don’t want to be known for bad BO (we also wouldn’t recommend that). But c’mon, it’s 2024. We’ve successfully landed on Mars at this point.
There has to be a middle ground between smelling good and killing yourself in the process.
And there actually is a middle ground. That’s what Daisy found. And that’s what we want to talk to you about.
THE 100% NATURAL AND FRIENDLY ALTERNATIVE TO PERFUME THAT DOESN’T KILL YOU SLOWLY OR STEAL MOISTURE FROM YOUR SKIN
Imagine a stunning glass bottle wrapped in artistic and unique packaging. A bottle that contains a liquid that smells like fresh herbs and fruits and flowers, maybe even hints of vanilla and citrus. Nope, not another deodorant or EDT or EDP.
This is a bottle of an authentic, 100% natural polyherbal oil.
And you can get your hands on something like this NOW!
You’re probably thinking,
“What can a polyherbal body oil do? Why would I want to smell like herbs and plants and dirt? How long will the smell even last? And what’s the point of applying a perfumed Ayurvedic body oil if it’s the perfumes that are no good for me?”
All of these are fair questions. And we’re about to answer each one.
Stay with us
Well, A LOT.
For starters, it can replace your beloved signature scent. A polyherbal oil won’t just make you smell amazing but it can also intensely moisturise, nourish, tone, tighten, and lift the look of dry, crepey, and wrinkled skin.
Basically, it doesn’t just replace your perfume. A polyherbal oil can do double the heavy lifting and work on the damage your skin has been subjected to (including the damage inflicted by perfumes). It can eventually make you feel more like you.
Now, for “Why would I want to smell like herbs and plants and dirt?” and “How long will the smell even last?”
With the right polyherbal oil, chances are you won’t smell anything like dirt. Instead, you could smell like a tea garden, or a bright summer day, or vanilla, or a mix of exotic flowers, or perhaps even something citrusy and fresh – the choices are truly endless and it’s yours. You just have to find the right blend.
And you’d be surprised by how long the scent of a body oil can last. Depending on the concentration and type of essential oils used in the formula, you could smell great round the clock. And get tonnes of compliments about the way you smell too!
Now onto the most important question, “What’s the point of applying a perfumed body oil if it’s the perfumes that are no good for me?”
Because 100% natural polyherbal oils do not contain perfumes or any other ingredients that would cause any short or long-term harm internally or externally.
Of course, you’re always advised to do a patch test for any product you’re planning to apply on your body and the same goes for a body oil.
The point is that if you’re looking at the right product, it’s only going to rely on natural essential oils to give it a scent and not any other synthetic or harmful fragrance.
No, you don’t have to travel to India or anywhere else to get an Ayurvedic oil that has the potential to replace your perfume. This oil will come to you – all the way from the land of Ayurveda.

All of this information on how your perfume is toxic can be overwhelming. So, here’s a simple breakdown on why you need to permanently get rid of it for a healthier, good-for-you option:
Balaayah and all its variants are completely toxic-free while your perfume contains SO many harmful ingredients (for your skin and overall health) and most of them are not even mentioned on the ingredients list.
The natural ingredients in Balaayah fit perfectly well together to give your ageing skin the care it needs while also making it smell divine. This body oil will provide instant and long-lasting moisture to your skin and make it appear tighter, firmer, and smoother. A perfume does not offer any benefits apart from its fragrance. In fact, it does more harm in the long term.
Each Balaayah variant is formulated by Ayurvedic experts and created using authentic recipes and preparation techniques from over 5000 years ago. Perfumes, on the other hand, are created using a bunch of harsh chemicals in a lab. Inside each bottle of Balaayah are time-tested ingredients and a formula that has been delivering on its promises for centuries. What’s inside your perfume? Mostly alcohol and water.
Fragrance is not the problem. Artificial/synthetic fragrances that are packed with harmful chemicals are the problem. A perfume contains the latter and a body oil like Balaayah contains natural, potent yet gentle essential oils that contribute to the scent of the oil.
So, while Balaayah does come in a variety of scents, none of those scents or their ingredients will harm your skin or give you a headache.
If your perfume, along with the natural process of ageing, has led to saggy, loose, crepey, or wrinkled skin on your shoulder, arms, or legs, then yes, Balaayah can help to reduce the appearance of these signs of ageing with its supreme moisturising, hydrating, and nourishing powers. Like with all skincare products, it takes time to see significant benefits, but many of our customers have started to feel (and smell) them from the first application.
All Balaayah variants are especially formulated and created for dry, ageing, and sensitive skin by Ayurvedic experts who’ve gained their knowledge and expertise through prestigious universities and schools in India – the birthplace of Ayurveda.
While this Black Gram-powered oil is a targeted solution for firming and lifting the look of saggy, loose, and wrinkled skin, it also works hard to leave your skin deeply moisturised and nourished – without irritating or causing any stinging sensation.
All the ingredients in Balaayah are 100% natural but we still recommend doing a patch test before applying the oil all over your body.
At iYURA, we guarantee that we give you 100% safe, compliant products that are free of heavy metal and pesticide toxicity, contain no chemicals and go through a rigorous series of checks and tests.
The limits we use for our final products are the most stringent ones.
We worked across all standards, USP, US-FDA Cosmetic, AHPA (American Herbal Product Association), Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia of India and even European cosmetic regulations. Then, within the prescribed limits we set our own standards to make it safe and compliant with authorities across United states as well.
Apart from this, we also conduct other quality tests such as Iodine value, peroxide value, Acid value, saponification value, refractive index, specific gravity, wt/ml, unsaponifiable matter and mineral oil tests to assure that each batch is as consistent and uniform as possible (given that our products are 100% natural) which gives assurance that manufacturing process was accurate and our product will work as expected.

A major embarrassment for me was the crepey skin on my legs and arms. I read the description of this oil and decided to try it and I am amazed. It really works! Love the earthy scent. Told my cousin about it and she bought a bottle. Now I’ve expanded to their facial care products.

This was my second bottle of Balaayah Black Gram Bright Body Booster. I absolutely love the scent, very earthy. I like it so much that I wish could get this scent in an essential oil for my diffuser. My skin just soaks it up

I love it! I smooth it over my arms and neck, occasionally legs and just take deep breaths. It has a gorgeous scent that makes me feel so relaxed and at ease. My skin has become lovely and soft. It is better than lotion because it seems to suit my skin and actually keep it looking good. I love the bottle and it’s cover which I always put back on. It makes me feel more like myself aswell 😊
